What we find on homes around here
Brisbane North and Moreton Bay aren't one set of conditions. The street you live on changes what grows on the roof and what stains the concrete, so it changes how we clean.
Bush and acreage blocks
Albany Creek, Eatons Hill, Ferny Hills and out towards Samford. Gum leaves pack the gutters and valleys, tannins leave brown marks on driveways, and the shaded side of the roof grows lichen first. These usually start with a gutter clear and more time on the shaded faces.
Bayside streets
Redcliffe, Scarborough, Margate and Woody Point. Salt air leaves a film on solar panels, windows and Colorbond that dirt and mould hang onto. It lifts with a gentle wash and a soft brush, so there's no need to scrub glass or coatings.
Newer estates
North Lakes, Mango Hill and Griffin. Less moss, but black streaks on the roof and green film on south-facing render show up within a few years. A light clean at that stage is quicker, and cheaper, than letting it set in.
