Every wall gets its own approach

A house is five or six different materials stuck together. Each one takes a different mix and a different amount of care.

Render & painted masonry

Rendered walls hold mould and algae in their texture, especially on the south side. A soft wash reaches into it without wearing the render back or lifting the paint.

Weatherboard & timber

Painted boards are washed at low pressure so water isn't driven up under the laps and into the frame behind them.

Brick and mortar joints come up clean without the etched lines a close-range pressure wand leaves, and without blasting out older mortar.

Sheeting and modern cladding are washed gently around joins and trims, exactly where high pressure pushes water behind the panel.

Why we don't pressure wash houses

A pressure washer makes a wall look clean for a month. What it does behind the wall shows up later.

What happens on the day

Walk-around

We go around the house with you and point out any paint that's already flaking, cracked render or tired seals before anything gets wet.

Protect

Garden beds are protected, and pets, ponds and outdoor furniture are sorted before we start.

Treat & rinse

The treatment goes on at low pressure, is left to work, then rinsed off every wall, eave and gutter face.

Photos

Before and after photos of each side, including the upstairs walls you can't easily check yourself.

Paint won't bond properly over mould and chalky residue. A soft wash a few days before the painters arrive gives them a clean, dry surface to start on.

No. The treatment goes on and rinses off at low pressure, so sound paint stays where it is. Paint that's already flaking can come away in the rinse, which is why we point it out on the walk-around first.
